What Builders Should Look for in a Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturer?
Price is only one part of choosing a cabinet manufacturer. Five things US builders, contractors, and developers should check, including who follows the order after it leaves the factory.

What Builders Should Look for in a Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturer
Beyond price, check five things: how long the manufacturer has served your market, whether they actually make the construction and finish you need, whether orders come out consistent, how they communicate, including after the container leaves the factory, and whether they ask about your project before quoting. Confirm each one with a direct question, not an assumption.
Price is the first thing most buyers compare, and on its own it's the least useful. For a builder, a cabinet order that arrives different from the last one means extra work on site. These five checks help you avoid that.
1. Experience With Your Market
Ask how long the manufacturer has served US builders and how well they know US project requirements. This matters most with overseas suppliers, where clear communication on specs, finishes, and dimensions has to be built from the start. We've been making cabinets for the US market for more than 20 years from our factory in Binh Duong, Vietnam.
2. Products and Finishes They Actually Make
Not every factory makes the same things. Ask which cabinets, finishes, and constructions are available, and confirm they match your specs before you ask for a quote. We make kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities, with painted, stained, thermofoil, laminate finishes or any your requirement.

3. Consistency Across Orders
Doors, drawer fronts, and other parts have to fit together on site. Small differences in dimensions, surface preparation, or finish create extra work at inspection and installation. Ask how production is checked before parts move to the next stage, and how specs reach the people building your order.
4. Communication, Including After the Container Leaves
Find out who your contact is, how spec changes are handled, and how you'll hear about progress. Then ask the question most buyers forget: who follows the shipment after it leaves the factory?
Most cabinet factories work FOB, so their job ends at the port. Ours doesn't. Our sales and logistics team tracks the vessel schedule, follows the shipment, and stays in touch until the cabinets reach the customer's warehouse. For some project customers, we follow even further, through to installation. Some of our US customers had never imported before when they started with us, so we're there when they need help with the process.
5. They Ask About Your Project
A manufacturer who quotes without asking about quantities, specs, and how the cabinets will be used is guessing. A good one wants your cabinet list first, because that's the only way to give you a number you can plan around.
What to Confirm Before You Order
Topic | Ask |
Experience | How long have you served US builders? |
Products | Which constructions and finishes do you make? |
Consistency | What checks happen before the next production stage? |
Communication | Who is my contact, and who tracks my shipment after it leaves the port? |
Quoting | What do you need from me to quote accurately? |
Common Questions When Choosing a Cabinet Manufacturer
What should a builder look for in a cabinet manufacturer besides price? Experience with your market, the right products and finishes, consistency between orders, clear communication, and a quoting process that starts with your actual project. If you only check one thing, check whether they ask about your project before they quote.
How can I check consistency before placing a large order? Ask how products are checked at each production stage and how specs are passed to the production team. If you can, visit the factory and see it yourself.
Is overseas sourcing risky for builders? It can be, mostly when nobody owns the part after the container is loaded. Most factories work FOB and stop at the port, so ask who tracks the shipment and who you call if it runs late. Also confirm specs, packaging, and delivery responsibilities before production starts.
What should I send a manufacturer to get an accurate quote? Your cabinet list or take-off, dimensions, construction type, materials, door style and finish, hardware, and quantities.
Can one manufacturer supply both kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities? Often yes, but confirm with each factory. We make both.
